Passenger Information System Engineer (PIS) 6 Months - úNeg

The candidate will be a Degree Qualified or Chartered Engineer, be a recognized authority in Passenger Information Systems Engineering and also have a proven demonstrable track record in the discipline of complex System Integration. Knowledge and awareness of other systems is desirable. Responsibilities stretch through the product lifecycle from concept, product development, test, through production, in-service support and finally decommission.
An excellent knowledge of systems engineering and development, processes, methods and tools is essential. A good knowledge of product development processes and contribution to best practices is also highly desirable. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record of novel ideas and techniques which have been championed to provide measureable performance improvements.
The candidate will be an excellent negotiator and be experienced in technical supplier management and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivery. The PIS System Engineer will lead customer liaison and strong communication skills are essential.
The candidate will be commercially aware and be capable of delivering cost optimal solutions and be capable of providing cost and schedule estimates on complex engineering programs.
Behavioral competencies required include strong energy and drive, ability to lead, be part of a team, excellent negotiating and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other key attributes of the person / role include:
- Excellent technical authoring skills and the ability to review, assess, and endorse designs.
- Leadership of design reviews and the ability to provide sound engineering judgment
- Lead by example and promote Systems Engineering best practice.
- Have excellent industry knowledge.
- Ensure on-time delivery and to the right quality

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

Degree Qualified or Chartered Engineer (Masters Degree desirable.)
Technical domain experience essential, System Integration experience essential, System Architectural understanding essential.
Rail experience desirable.
Significant experience and hands on delivery of the design, analysis, development, testing and delivery of engineering solutions that solve complex requirements.
Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
Be able to demonstrate the ability to use this technical knowledge in the support of other departments (engineering, production, procurement, projects) and the development of less experienced engineering personnel.
